The purpose of the Rhode Island Sportfishermen, hereafter referred to as R.I.M.S., shall be to join in a formal organization, persons interested in the natural beach resources of Rhode Island; to work as an instrument to secure voluntary acceptance of certain rules which will benefit the sport of mobile sportfishing vehicle operations, and salt water angling; to work for the proper conservation of water, beaches and marine sport fisheries of Rhode Island; to engage in study and disseminate information relating marine waters, marine species, beach travel and sport vehicle operations; to take such course of action necessary to secure needed legislation or reform in the public interest; to encourage and promote good sportsmanship; to aid members of RIMS and the public in all efforts to effect any of the purposes herein stated, to uphold conservation laws; to take membership with any national or state council, group or association, if deemed to further the purpose herein stated, all being in conformity with the certificate of incorporation.
