Subject: Re: Quonnie update
Jim,
Rhonda and Erin are both away at a training this week, so I am walking beaches again (it has been a long time!!) and enjoying the sun!
I was at Quonnie today and wanted to send an update. The nest on the Fiske property was predated by a fox, and they appear to have moved to the front of the beach (east of the house). There is another pair on the big overwash behind the hurricane trees, but no eggs yet. It does seem like there is some sand coming back, such that the drop off is not so severe where the sand trail intersects the beach face. We will continue to keep track of where the bird are, and hope they pick a spot and stick to it soon! We'll keep you posted.
Thanks
Suzanne
