                             Conservation Committee

On September 25th this year we are once again participating in the 2010 Audubon Society International Inter-Coastal Clean-Up. As usual we will be meeting at the club house between 8am and 8:45 for pastries and coffee, then back to the club house for lunch around 12.

It is very important that people come to this clean up. They show the public how serious we are about Conservation. This helps in our negotiations in accessing our property during the Piping Plover nesting season. Last years turn out was not as good as previous years even thou many of you were at the RIMS beach property.

When I first joined RIMS our public image was not very good, working at these events has changed that considerably. Come on the 25th of September and support the club and have a good time doing it.

Thanks,

Stephen Cersosimo # 578

Thank to all of you for making our 2009 Intercoastal clean up  another big success.

These efforts create a positive community awareness for our club. They also help earn the support of the Westerly Town Council and local politicians. Along with them we were able to defeat proposed regulation 29.10 which would have limited the Public access to the Quonnie Breechway.

Please read the letter below from the Audubon Society of Rhode Island and be sure to click on links on bottom of page to view results.

Thanks again,
Stephen Cersosimo RIMS # 578
