Members

RIMS Conditional Membership:

  1. All new dues paying members, including spousal members voted into membership shall be conditional members for a period of twelve (12) months. The member is obligated to provide 12 hours of service to the club.  Said work may include, but is not limited to, Club outings, projects, and committee work. Said work periods will not include regular club meetings.
  2. All conditional members will be required to attend a minimum 3 (three) club meetings. Signing in at the meetings and recording the dates of the meetings attended is the conditional member's responsibility. Signing in at each meeting validates the member's attendance in the secretary's report.
  3. It shall be the duty of the conditional member to be aware of current an pending projects by reading the newsletter, attending monthly meetings or by viewing the current listings posted on the club website.
  4. Conditional member must coordinate their work efforts with the Committee Chairperson who has control of the area in which the work is to be performed. Hours worked will be recorded on the back of the membership card. Said Chairperson will, on a quarterly basis (every three months) provide the Membership Chairperson with a list of names, member's number and total hours worked. This record will be available to the concerned member for verification of accuracy.
  5. Those conditional members who have not satisfied their work and/or meeting obligation by the end of the twelve (12) months will not be allowed to renew their membership. Those conditional members whose twelve (12) month conditional period extends past the normal dues renewal period will be allowed to renew the first time provided they have been accumulating worked hours. Those conditional members will be allowed to renew the second year provided their work obligation was completed in the twelve (12) months. If the twelve (12) hours of service has not been completed by the conditional member, they will NOT be allowed again to renew their membership.
  6. Any conditional member denied the renewal of his membership may appeal to the RIMS board of Directors only one (l) time. Concerning the appeal, the RIMS board of Directors may vote to;
    A) Grant a six (6) month extension to complete the required twelve (12) service hours. If not completed within the six (6) months the said conditional member's membership would be revoked .
    B) Deny appeal.
  7. Conditional members shall have all rights and privileges as club members.
